    • Fatty acids are recommended for making soap.

    • Carbon atoms ranging from 10-18 e.g. oleic acid, coconut fat acid having 12 atoms used in soap making give better foam/lather and well soluble.

    • Olive oil when used provides mildness and high quality.

    • Palm oil plus coconut oil mixture improves hardness in soap.

    • Fatty acids with carbon atoms below 10 irritates the skin and gives objectionable smells while those above 18 carbon atoms results into hard soap.
